CAIRO: The Spanish Foreign Ministry recommended its citizens not to travel to Egypt for security reasons except in cases of necessity, the Spanish Newspaper ABC published Thursday.
The exceptions are Luxor, Aswan, and tourist centers in the Red Sea, stressing the need to be cautious.
The Ministry asked its travelers to continuously report the development of the political and security situation in Egypt and avoid sites of protests, such as Ithadeya presidential palace, Tahrir Square, governmental offices, and political party headquarters in Cairo, Alexandria, and Suez.
The ministry also warned of the possibility of terrorist attacks in the Sinai Peninsula and the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip.
