Mansour delegates certain presidential powers to new Prime Minister

CAIRO:  Interim President Adly Mansour issued a decree on Thursday to delegate certain presidential authorities to Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, in accordance with the amended constitution issued on Jan. 18.

The decree, issued Thursday in the official state gazette, allotted the Prime Minister the authority to handle state properties and to expropriate real estate, for the benefit of the public and the protection of monuments.

The decree also allows Mahlab the power to grant pensions, exceptional bonuses, subsidy reports, loans, compensations and damages.

Interim President Adly Mansour assigned former Minister of Housing Ibrahim Mahlab to form the new government on Feb. 25, after Hazem al-Beblawy submitted the resignation of his government on Feb. 24 through a statement broadcasted on state television.
