CAIRO: The head of Dostour Party Hala Shukrallah said Thursday that she met with the ambassadors of the Netherlands, Japan and Belgium in Cairo to discuss the issue of democracy in Egypt.

Shukrallah said in press statements after her meetings on Thursday that the party prefers the application of electoral list system instead of the individual system, which would to lead to a parliament of businessmen again.

Regarding questions about the presidential elections, the party said it observes the whole situation, and will decide after a meeting by the supreme board of the party, continued Shukrallah.

The meeting with the ambassadors did not discuss the detained revolutionary youth as this case only concerns the party and the Egyptian government, Shukrallah said.

However, the party leader added that she seeks the release of the detained youth, as well as that she would visit a member of the party that is currently in prison.
