CAIRO: A security source at the Ministry of Interior denied that Khairat el-Shater or other Muslim Brotherhood leaders receive private visits while imprisoned in Tora, he told Youm7 on Friday .

The security source denied allegations made by some websites and newspapers about el-Shater and others getting private visits in prison.

The source confirmed in an official statement from the ministry that the news is false. He said prisons do not allow visits on Fridays or official holidays. All visits are carried out according to legal and administrative permission and procedures that organize them. Shater’s last visit was from his family, the source added.

The Ministry of Interior called on all media to do some research before broadcasting unconfirmed news and to refer to relevant sources to verify it before publishing for the public’s interest and their right to know
