CAIRO: Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Ministry Badr Abdel Atty commended Saudi Arabia’s decision to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organization, predicting that the rest of the Arab countries will follow in the same suit.
Abdel Atty stated to Anadolu News Agency that the Saudi decision reflects the coordination and solidarity between the two countries, which are the bases of joint Arab work.
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia complemented the same decision by the Egyptian government on Dec. 25, and Cairo’s call to hold an Arab League meeting to consider the Brotherhood a terrorist organization, under the convention on fighting terrorism, which was signed by 17 Arab countries.
Saudi Arabia designated the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and in Yemen, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the Nusra Front, and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations on Friday.
