98.8 million cell phone lines and 38.18 million internet users in Egypt: Cabinet

CAIRO: The number of cell phone lines used in Egypt rose to 98.8 million in November 2013, and Internet users amounted 38.18 million by December, according to a Friday statement by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center.

The cell phone lines figure reflects a 0.87 percent increase from October and 3.39 percent from November 2012, the statement on the socioeconomic indicators said.

On the other hand, the number of landline customers declined to 6.70 millions in November 2013 with a 3.46 percent decrease from October and 21.45 percent from November 2012, the statement added.

Internet users increased by 2.36 percent from November 2012, when they were 31.99 million users.
