CAIRO: Amr Moussa arrived in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday morning and started his visit by meeting the Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam.
Moussa congratulated him on the formation of the new Lebanese government, and reviewed the situation in Lebanon, particularly the economic and security situations as well as the issue of displaced people in the country.
According to a statement issued by the Information Office of Moussa, the discussion between both sides dealt with international, regional and Arab issues and their impact on Egypt and Lebanon. Moussa assured that all the Egyptians are concerned with the stability of Lebanon. He added that the eternal relationships between the two peoples are the engine for the joint interaction between them.
The two parties further discussed the Ukrainian crisis and its potential impacts on the Syrian situation, in addition to the consequences that will affect Lebanon and Jordan. They also discussed the Palestinian issue as Moussa told Salam that it would not be forgotten and that finding a solution for it would remain one of the pillars of the region’s stability.
