CAIRO: The Journalist Syndicate Council did not surrender the detained journalists, the syndicate head Diaa Rashwan said in an interview on ONTV channel Friday.

Member of the Journalist Syndicate Abeer Saady said on Feb. 16 that she will boycott the syndicate council protests against the syndicate’s shortage in defending detained journalists.

Rashwan denied Saady’s accusations, adding that the syndicate made effort to improve the conditions of the five imprisonment Muslim Brotherhood journalists although they are accused in criminal cases.

Rashwan said the five detained Brotherhood detained journalists and another journalist from Building and Development Party was transferred from intensive guarded Akrab Prison to Tora Prison.

The syndicate presented an initiative for reconciliation in the criminal case of Nura Rashid and her brother but she refused, referring that the syndicate defended its members and even those who are not members.

Rashwan announced he will hold a press conference in the syndicate in the upcoming week to show the current council’s achievements.
