CAIRO: A leading official in Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum said the ministry demanded security authorities to intensify security measures in the surrounding areas of the gas pipelines due to the increasing attacks that recently targeted them.
He said the saboteurs found the gas pipelines an easy target for their terrorist operations, condemning the recent attack that targeted the gas pipeline between Port-Said and Damietta.
Egyptian Company of Natural Gas chairperson Karem Mahmoud said the incident did not affected the operation of gas network. The gas stations witnessed five terrorist attacks in Sinai since the beginning of 2014.
