CAIRO: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs allocated hotlines for Egyptians in Libya to call for assistance, according to a Saturday statement by the ministry.

The statement advised Egyptians traveling to or residing in Libya to exercise extreme caution while moving inside Libya, in light of the “difficult security conditions” there.

Egyptian citizens in Libya can reach the operations room of the Egyptian embassy and consulate in Libya seven days a week including holidays at the following numbers: (002) 25772500, 25777101, 27739583 and 25744791.

The staff of the embassy and consulate, currently in Egypt, can be directly reached at 01006674732, 01003569346, 01008829344 and 01115030005 as of March 13, 2014.

Egypt withdrew its diplomatic delegation from Libya in January because of the deteriorating security situation, after one of its diplomatic personnel was abducted then released.

Seven Egyptians were also found shot to death almost two weeks ago in Benghazi.
