CAIRO: The Free Egyptians Party received Saturday the Palestinian Minister of Labor Ahmed Majdalani, member of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the secretary general of Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, according to a party statement.
The Palestinian guest met the leaders of the party, including the party’s head of the board of trustees Osmaa al-Ghazaly Harb, the head of the international relations committee Amr Suleiman and member of the general secretariat office Maged Samy. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Arab Labor Conference.
According to the statement, the participants ways to deepen the cooperation between PLO and the party, as well as how to counter terrorist organizations. Both sides emphasized the support of the Palestinian people for the actions of the Egyptian government against terrorist organizations.
The Muslim Brotherhood, which ruled Egypt until the July 3 ouster of Mohamed Morsi, was widely assumed to have had close relations with Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian government declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorism organization on Dec. 25, 2013.
