CAIRO: Youm7 and the World Bank’s Cairo office are scheduled to hold a forum titled “The media and guaranteeing the constitutional right to the free flow of information” on March 10 at 8:30 a.m.
The forum aims to discuss the draft law on the free flow of information, announced by the Ministry of Justice last September, and listen to the views of local and international media experts on their experiences with the free flow of information.
A number of international media experts are scheduled to participate in the forum including Edward al-Dahdah, a World Bank consultant, Toby Mendel, executive director of the Canadian Center for Law and Democracy, and Nehal el-Kouesney, director of the World Bank’s Middle East Information Center .
A number of prominent writers and journalists, including Abeer Saadi, undersecretary of the Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate, Bassem Sabry, a political analyst, and Hisham Kassem, a prominent writer and publisher, are slated to participate.
Representatives from the Ministry of Justice will also attend the forum.
