CAIRO: Revolution Path Front organized a protest in Talaat Harb Square at 6 p.m. on Sunday entitled ‘Release them or arrest us’ demanding freedom for prisoners. Dozens of protesters denounced the policies adopted by the Ministry of Interior.

The traffic flow was interrupted because of the protest. Traffic policemen withdrew from the area while the protesters chanted slogans against the Interior Ministry and against the government.

Peddlers and shops owners in the square attacked the protest by hurling empty bottles at the protesters.

The peddlers and shops owners explained that they took this action in anticipation of the arrival of police forces to disperse the protest which would lead to the closure of their shops. The protesters moved away from the square and went to Qasr al-Nil Street.
