AMMAN: Jordanian House Speaker Atef Tarawneh and Saudi Ambassador in Jordan Sami bin Abdullah Alsaleh, discussed Sunday the latest developments in the Middle East, especially the Syrian crisis, and a number of issues of common interest.
Tarawneh reviewed Jordanian efforts to maintain stability in a turbulent region.
Jordan is a state that respects the law and international conventions that is why it has not closed its borders to Syrian refugees in spite of its limited resources, he said.
The Saudi Ambassador praised the big role played by Jordan in the various issues, especially its efforts in hosting the Syrian refugees. He called for the international community to assume its responsibilities and help Jordan to meet the humanitarian needs of the influx of refugees crossing to its borders.
