CAIRO: The Masry Asly Itinerant Film Festival (MAIFF) runs March 15-18 in Cairo at the Artistic Creativity Center and Cinema Hall at the Hanager Arts Center.
The program will be structured in two parts– the “Masry Asly Pure Egyptian Competition” and “Eyes On,” according to the official website of the festival,
The Masry Asly Competition will present 24 Egyptian short features and documentaries, and two awards will be granted by the festival: the Jury Award and the Public Award.
The young, talented winners of the competition will be granted a residency at the Binger FilmLab, an Amsterdam based, international talent and project development center for feature and documentary films.
The “Eyes On” section will present six short features and documentaries about Egypt.
The festival will also be hosted in Aswan on March 25-26 and in Damanhour on April 15-17 as well.
Films are subtitled in English.
