CAIRO: Conductor Rageh Daoud will be performing at the Cairo Opera House in the Main Hall Wednesday, March 19 at 8 p.m., and on Sunday the 23rd at the Alexandria Opera House at 8 p.m.
Rageh Daoud is an Egyptian composer of contemporary music. He is also a pianist and music professor at the Cairo Conservatoire and has composed scores for several Egyptian Films.
Musicians include Ines Abdel-Dayem on flute, Mostafa El Arabi on oboe, Hossam Shehata on violin, Hany El-Badry on nay, Mahmoud Abdel Fatah on oud, Saber Abdel-Sataron on qanoun, Mohamed Saleh on organ, and Ahmed Zaki with vocals.
The program will include contemporary music by Rageh Daoud: Le Murmure des Fleures; Promenade for Flute, Qanoun, and String Orchestra; Taqussim for Flute and String Orchestra; Wandering for Nay, Qanoun and String Orchestra; Passacaglia for Oud, Organ and String Orchestra; King Leer for Flute, Oboe and String Orchestra; Dialogue For Violin, Nay, Qanoun and String Orchestra; To the Martyrs of 25 of January for Flute and String Orchestra; Dance for Flute and String Orchestra, and “Ibtehal” Invocation for Voice and Chamber Orchestra.
