CAIRO: Hull City, where the Egyptian internationals Ahmed Elmohamady (Elmo), and Mohamed Nagy (Gedo) play, secured the second win in a row in the English Premier League, after beating West Ham United on Saturday by 1-0.
Former Ennpi player Elmohamady played the full match while Gedo was out from the team’s squad list of the match since he didn’t fully recover from his injury.
Elmo played a good cross to his team mate Danny Graham in the penalty area in the 11th minute but the striker was pushed away by a West Ham defender. The referee judged it as a penalty that Robbie Brady converted to the nets to make 1-0.
Elmohamady played a hero role saving his team by blocking West Ham player James Tomkins’ header just before the goal line.
The new technology Eagle Eye had a decisive role in this situation as it determined it was no goal. The TV replay showed that it was a correct decision.
Hull City is now seventh in the Premier League with ten points and ahead of major clubs like Manchester United. West Ham only gathered 5 points and finds itself at the 16th position.
