CAIRO: Al Tannoura band for Cultural Heritage will perform today at el-Ghouri PalaceWekalet al-Ghuri cultural center.
The General Organization for Cultural Palaces established the band in 1988. It is an Egyptian folk bands consisting of 50 members.
According to the group’s Facebook page, it performs twice a week in Cairo.
The performers use popular and folk musical instruments such as salamia, ney (Egyptian flute), tabla (Egyptian drum), tambourines, sanjes, and rababa. The folk singer recites religious verses and they sing in praise of the Prophet Mohammed.
