Trains resume under high security

CAIRO: Trains were partially operational for the second day on Sunday on two major lines, the Alexandria-Banha line and the Qena-Aswan line, under heightened security, Egyptian Railway authorities said.

Major General Mahmoud Yousry, head of the security directorate in the Qalyubia governorate, inspected several stations andemphasized that all security personnel musttakeextreme caution in applying security procedures, especially before boarding and departure.

The government is gradually reopening train stations on a tentative basis. Trips to Cairo remain suspended, while bus routes to the capital are functional.
