CAIRO: Egyptian politicians are condemning recent statements made by Tunisian politician and En-Nahda Movement leader Rashid al-Ghannushi as unacceptable interference in Egypt’s internal affairs.
In a Thursday interview with Anadolu Agency, Ghannushi said what happened in Egypt is a disaster and a military coup. He said there are too many people in prison and too many assaults on human rights.
Ghannushi also said “reconciliation is the only solution to solve the crisis in Egypt.”
Deputy Head of Karama Party Hamed Gabr commented Thursday on the recent statements made by Ghannushi, which included saying that there is a crisis in Egypt between the state and the people.
Gabr responded by saying that, of course, there is no crisis in Egypt.
In a statement to Youm7, Gabr said Ghannushi’s statements are considered unacceptable interference in Egypt’s affairs, adding that they encourage terrorists to act against the state.
Leader in the Nasserist Party Tawheed al-Banhawy called for Ghannushi to focus on Tunisia’s affairs and considered his statements to be unacceptable.
In a statement to Youm7, Banhawy said the Egyptian people will solve the crisis and no one else.
