AL, UN launch 2014 action plan to support humanitarian conditions in Yemen

CAIRO: In cooperation with the UN Regional Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs for the Middle East and North Africa, the Arab League (AL) launched on Monday a joint action plan to support humanitarian conditions in Yemen, worth some $532 million for 2014.

AL Assistant Secretary General Faeqa Saleh said during a meeting that Yemen suffers from difficult humanitarian conditions and the country is in dire need for mobilizing all international and regional efforts and offering help to assist Yemeni people ride out this current crisis.

The pan-Arab organization is very interested in doing its utmost to help the Yemeni people in cooperation with different agencies concerned with the humanitarian affair, according to Saleh.
