CAIRO: One of the Egyptians reportedly kidnapped in Libya, Waleed Khlifa, told Youm7 late Friday that the kidnappers released him and his brother after media circulated their story.

Waleed said the kidnappers insisted on getting their ransom and refused to release the kidnapped. But when the media circulated their case, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs efforts pushed the kidnappers to release them in an unknown location.

Waleed praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ actions, and that the kidnappers were armed and their ideology is unknown.

Libyan Ambassador to Cairo Mohamed Fayez told The Cairo Post on Friday that he had no information about the incident.
