BANHA, Egypt: Qalyubia Governor Mohamed Abdel Zaher decided on Monday to set up a new apartment complex for youth in Shubra Al Khaimah on an area of five feddans (5.2 acres.)
In a statement, Abdel Zaher said a special committee has been formed to remove obstructions in the area designed for the housing project, which is expected to help solve the housing problem in Shubra Al Khaimah that includes several slums.
He added that the committee would refer the project to the Armed Forces to implement it.
He said a parking lot for microbuses will be established covering three feddans behind Bukhari Mosque in western Shubra Al Khaimah.
The move comes as part of the governorate’s keenness to solve the traffic congestion on the Cairo-Alexandria highway road at the entrance of Shubra Al Khaimah city.
