GENEVA, Switzerland: Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Walid Mahmoud Abdel-Nasser asserted on Tuesday that Cairo rejects any Israeli violations of human rights in Palestine.

“Egypt recognizes the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he said.

During his speech in Geneva, Abdel-Nasser reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the Israeli practices in the Palestinian territory.

He also called on the international community to intervene to stop such violations.
