CAIRO: April 1 will mark the start of the second annual India on the Nile Festival, which will host a diverse program of workshops, concerts, and

“A festival on the scale of India by Nile is much more than a program of events; it seeks to create encounters, forge partnerships, and encourage friendships that will endure,” said  Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Navdeep Suri on the festival’s website.

Most Egyptians who watched television in the 1990s enjoyed Eid watching specials featuring Indian star Amitabh Bachchan. This year’s festival will include the musical “Bollywood Love Story,” that features 35 Indian artists dancing and performing to the music of Indian cinema, as well as workshops on Bollywood dancing, and lectures on Indian textiles, cartoons, and literature.
