Two dead in North Sinai clashes

 NORTH SINAI, Egypt: Two soldiers were killed, and three injured in armed attacks on Monday morning by unknown assailants in North Sinai, according to a senior security source.


Arish witnessed violent clashes between security forces and “armed terrorists” who launched an offensive on a western police station in the city, opening fire on the soldiers, leaving two dead and another injured, the source.


The source added that the Arish incident was followed by another attack on a Central Security Forces’ camp in Masaeed, where soldier Mahmoud Shaaban, 45, was injured, as well as a third offensive on a minor police station in Sheikh Zuweid, in which soldier Ahmed Ismail was injured.


According to witnesses, Arish city is currently on high alert as security forces launched investigations in the city to arrest the assailants.
