CAIRO: April 6 Youth Movement called on citizens to protest on April 6 to commemorate the movement’s founding under the banner of “Release Egypt,” according to the movement’s Facebook page Wednesday.

The page said Egypt had become worse than at it was in 2008 and warned that the country would turn into a military state.

The movement said it would not announce where the protests would be held to avoid altercations with security forces.

The movement said the events on April 6 would be held in coordination with the movement’s branches – “Maher front” and “Democratic Front”

Mohamed Kamal, a member of the movement’s political office, said the movement would organize a press conference Thursday to announce the details of the activities to be held on April 6, according to Youm7.

A member of the political bureau of April 6 Mahmoud Moustafa told Youm7 Wednesday that the movement would invite political figures to the celebration of the sixth anniversary of its founding.

Moustafa asserted that the movement would organize marches in slum areas to raise their economic and social demands, according to Youm7.
