CAIRO: The East Cairo Prosecution decided on Wednesday to imprison Mustafa Kamel and Reda Abul Hassan for fifteen days on charges of participation in violent acts in Ain Shams during clashes between protesters and security forces last Friday, Youm7 reported.

Friday’s clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and security forces left five dead.

Among the dead were 22-year-old journalist Mayada Ashraf, a Christian young woman Mary Sameh George, a child named Sharif Abdel Rao’uf, and two others, Ahmed Mohammed Jab Allah and Karim Mohammed Salam.

Ashraf was killed by two gunshots to her head while she was covering the National Alliance for Supporting Legitimacy demonstrations, The Cairo Post reported Friday.

The demonstrations were called in protest of Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s decision to run in the presidential elections.

The prosecution decided to release another detainee, Marwan Abdul Allah, for being a minor, Youm7 reported.
