AMMAN: Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi affirmed Sunday the necessity of supporting all exerted efforts meant to achieve an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
The remarks came during a meeting here today with Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour.
AL chief Arabi discussed with Ensour the recent developments of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations as well as issues on the agenda of the upcoming emergency meeting of the Arab foreign ministers.
The meeting also took up the situation in Syria, which sent thousands of refugees to Jordan.
Arabi arrived here yesterday on a three-day visit during which he will participate in a regional conference on the Arab network for emergencies and crises.
