CAIRO: The Museo Aero Solar “Treasured Trash” workshop will be held at at Darb 1718 from April 7 to April 12.
The project began this year when citizens of Fustat and Masr El-Qadeema discussed the concept of recycling garbage as a source of income for women and unemployed youth in Fustat, according to a Darb 1718 statement.
The Museo Aero Solar is a “flying museum,” a balloon structure made of pasted plastic bags. Every year new plastic bags are added as the project visits a different country, to create a group art project. The project has visited the United Arab Emirates, Italy, France, Switzerland, the U.S., Germany, Denmark and Cuba.
In Cairo, the project will rely on the cutting and pasting of a collection of used plastic bags. Participants will be asked to bring their own plastic bags.
The workshop will take place every afternoon from April 7 to April 12.
