CAIRO: After 20 years outside Egypt, famous musician Emad el-Sharouny will present a concert Wednesday, April 23 in the main hall of the Cairo Opera House.
“He offers a new artistic vision of old Arabic and western classical compositions by re-arranging them in a contemporary way,” according to a Facebook event for the performance.
The concert will include an orchestra of 60 players of eastern and western musical instruments, according to the event posting. El-Sharouny will perform his new arrangements, including works by the Beatles, Ricky Martin, Beethoven, Strauss, Brahms and a selection of Latin and Spanish music.
Sharouny was a well-known computer and distributor during the 1990s. He emigrated from Egypt to Australia, where he spent 20 years as a successful musician, according to the page.
