GAZA CITY: Israeli authorities will shut down the Karam Abu Salem crossing, southeast of the Gaza Strip, on Tuesday but will allow trucks laden with fuel to get into the coastal enclave.

Israel will close the crossing over rockets allegedly fired from Gaza into the Jewish settlements near Gaza, Raed Fattouh, chairperson of the coordination committee for the entry of goods into the Gaza Strip, said Monday.

Israel will allow only fuel to the only power plant and limited amounts of gasoline, diesel and cooking gas to cross, he added.

Karam Abu Salem is the only commercial crossing through which the Israeli authorities allow the entry of commodities to Gaza.
