Egypt envoy meets Sudan presidential assistant

KHARTOUM, Sudan: Sudanese assistant to the president Brigadier General Abdul-Rahman al Sadiq al-Mahdi received Tuesday Egypt’s Charge d’affaires in Khartoum Wael Barakat.

Barakat indicated that the meeting has reviewed consolidation of cooperation between the two countries in all domains and ways for supporting the president of the republic’s initiative for achieving Arab food security.

He added that he briefed the top official on the final stance concerning the opening of the border crossings between the two countries, pointing out that work in Gastul-Ashkiet crossing would shortly be completed.

On Argien crossing, Barakat noted that the crossing would be ready for operation in three to six months.
