Bomb explodes in Dokki, 1 injured

CAIRO: A second bomb exploded Wednesday inside an office in Dokki, Giza leading to the injury of the person who planted it, reported Youm7.

According to Youm7, the injured person said that he got the bomb from two brothers in Ayaat district in order to plant the bomb near a bank in Tahrir St. in Dokki, in return for 1,000 EGP, but the bomb exploded in his face.

A report of the incident was filed and the prosecution was notified to carry out investigations in this regard.

Another explosion took place this morning in October 6 City, when a bomb went off inside a police car, killing at least one police officer.

After the dispersal of the pro-Muslim Brotherhood Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Square sit-ins in August 2013, attacks on security and police forces have been recurrent. Several different groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks on security and police forces over the past several months.

On April 18, an explosion in Mohandessin’s Lebanon Square targeted the police and killed one officer, and on April 16 a police officer was injured in an explosion in Arish.
