CAIRO: Railway movement was stopped once again when protestors returned to cut off the tracks after security forces had stated that the protests were successfully dispersed.

Beni-Suef’s Security Director Ibrahim Hadib previously said that members of Muslim Brotherhood cut off the Cairo-Aswan road in response to the arrest of nine persons affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Maimon Village near Wasta City.

Muslim Brotherhood supporters organized a protest in the village, cutting off the Cairo-Aswan road and railways in a protest against the security campaign to arrest the members of Muslim Brotherhood who were involved in violent actions during the recent period, Youm7 reported.

Hadib added in a statement issued on Thursday, “The security forces confronted the demonstrators using teargas and managed to disperse them.” Additional troops were sent to disperse the other rallies and restore traffic flow he added.

Sources said that the protests impeded the movement of nine trains.
