N’DJAMENA: Chadian President Idriss Deby has underlined the importance of restoring Egypt’s seat at the African Union.
During a meeting with visiting Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Friday, Deby praised steps taken by Egypt to fulfill the transitional roadmap, saying its completion will help the country restore its seat in the pan-African body.
He commended efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to consolidate relations with African countries.
The Chadian president expected Egyptian-African relations to return to their golden age since the appointment of Mahlab as prime minister for his good relations with all African leaders.
He stressed the need for enhancing cooperation with Egypt in all fields.
