Policeman killed in fire exchange in Cairo

CAIRO: A policeman was killed in a fire exchange between security forces and armed men affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo’s Mataria district Friday, Youm7 reported.

 The Metro Company suspended service on the Helwan-Marg metro line at the stop at Saray al-Kobba due to the violence that occurred near Mataria station.

Brotherhood protesters marched Friday in the Second District of October 6 City, calling for the release of other protesters. Security forces dispersed the demonstration with tear gas, according to Youm7.

Yasser Mehrez, spokesperson of the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, was arrested Early Friday at an apartment in 6 October City for his alleged implication in recent terrorist attacks and incitement.
