CAIRO: “Asham Eblees”, meaning (The Devil’s Wish), will be performed at the Gomhoriya Theater at the Cairo Opera House on April 28 and 29 at 8 p.m.

“Asham Eblees” is the name of a new contemporary dance by a contemporary stage dancers group lead by Monadel Antar.

The dance is based on a novel called “Mawlana”, which translates into “Our master”, by Ibrahim Eissa. The dance consists of seven different scenes that address the concept of good and evil and how the devil seduces people into doing evil things.

The group was formed in 1993 and is considered the first group of its kind in the Arab World. It has received many awards at the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater. It has also represented Egypt in many specialized festivals, such as the Carthage International Festival in Tunisia. The band has also performed in China and Italy, according to Al-Tahrir News website.

“Asham Eblees” can be seen on April 28 and 29 at Cairo Opera House.
