NORTH SINAI, Egypt: North Sinai Governor Sayed Abdel-Fattah Harhour denied Sunday reports about transferring National Day and liberation of Sinai celebrations to Ismailia, due to security conditions

“Egyptian universities organized a celebration on the occasion of Sinai liberation hosted by Suez Canal University at the Suez Canal ground in Ismailia, and I attended it as the North Sinai Governor,” he said.

“The celebration of the National Day and the anniversary of Sinai Liberation will take place on Sinai territories,” he stressed

Harhour said a branch of the Suez Canal University will be established in Sinai

“The Supreme Council of Universities has approved the establishment of three new colleges in North Sinai, including the Faculties of Arts and Sciences in Arish, along with the Environmental Studies Institute in Bir el-Abd,” he added

They will be inaugurated in the new academic year.

“I will try to establish a seventh faculty of medicine, so the branch could be a new university titled el-Fairouz,” he concluded.
