CAIRO: The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo will hold a festival on Monday to mark Russia’s Victory Day when Nazi Germany capitulated to Soviet Union in the Second World War on May 9.
The festival will display a photography exhibition and a documentary film about the Victory Day, the center said in a statement on Sunday.
Another festival will be held on May 14 marking the 50th anniversary of Nile River Diversion during the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser’s era.
On May 18, the center will organize an exhibition called The Spring and Decoupage by artist Bahega al-Helbawy. On May 21, a book fair will be organized to celebrate the 90th anniversary ofBoris Lvovich Vasilyev’s birthday.
Marking Children’s Day, the center will hold a three-day festival starting on May 29 in Hurghada called Children’s Colors.
