CAIRO : A total of 225,000 tons of wheat were recived from farmers to the government, head of the Agricultural Credit Bank under the Ministry of Agriculture Salem Attia Salem told Youm7.
Salem said that 225,000 tons of wheat were recived from farmers to the government, compared to last year with 90,000 tons of wheat.
Attia said he will be disbursed dues supply on the same day or within 48 hours, pointing out that it was disbursed 625 million EGP to farmers for their production since April 15. He said the procurement process is normal and there are no obstacles.
He said all agriculture Credit Bank branches work seven days a week, including Fridays and Saturdays, and leave on Thursday with the approval of the Central Bank. During the week, they receive wheat from farmers and hand them over their dues by the price that is advertised.
The Ministry of Agriculture co-operates with the Ministry of Petrolum to save diesel fuel all the total cultivated wheat area at 3,000,393 feddans (acres) for farmers this season, Attia said.
All required quantities of diesel oil will be provided in all gas stations and production areas to facilitate to farmers to supply their crops with any obstacles in the harvest season.
