CAIRO: Israel’s new ambassador to Egypt Haim Koren arrived here on Sunday to assume his new post in succession of his predecessor Yaakov Amitai who ended his tour of duty few weeks ago.
Koren and his accompanying diplomatic staff arrived on board an Air Sinai flight and were welcomed by Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocols Ambassador Hisham Marzouk.
Haim Koren is appointed to replace Yaakov Amitai who served as Israel’s envoy since December 2011.
This won’t be Koren’s first time to work in Egypt; he previously served as consul in Alexandria. He also worked in the US and Nepal as a Middle East affairs specialist.
