PARIS:  Hamdeen Sabbahi’s presidential campaign has welcomed his pledges to respond to demands of Egyptians abroad if he is elected president.

Sabbahi promised Egypt’s expatriates via video-conference to establish an independent ministry that supervises all Egypt’s consulates, Sabbahi campaign coordinator Moustafa Bakri said.

Sabbahi also vowed to establish a private bank for expatriates to put their money in the form of deposits so that Egypt uses those deposits in stimulating Egypt’s economy, Bakri added.

Sabbahi promised to build Egyptian schools abroad and exempt expatriates from tax and customs when they arrive to Egypt.
