CAIRO: Clashes erupted Saturday in the Cairo suburb of Nasr City outside Al-Azhar University dormitories between the police forces and protesting students.
The clashes took place in front of the Faculty of Commerce where security forces had fired tear gas canisters to disperse a pro- Brotherhood’s protest.
Many students suffered from suffocation from the tear gas, according to Youm7.
Egyptian security forces intensified their measures in the vicinty of Al-Azhar University and were deployed inside and outside the university, in anticipation of further protests.
Many students had fled inside the university’s buildings and others left the campus.
