1 police killed, 2 injured in Rafah shooting

CAIRO: Lieutenant Ramy Algelgely, 28, was killed after being shot in the neck in a shooting attack on a police vehicle near the border with Israel early Friday, security sources told Youm7.

Two other policemen were injured, Youm7 reported.

Security sources said that unidentified assailants opened fire on a security patrol in Rafah in North Sinai that was searching the area.

The injured policemen were transferred to El Arish Military Hospital, Youm7 reported.

The armed assailants escaped after they shot the forces, security sources said.
