BAGHDAD:  One person was killed and seven others were injured after several mortar shells were fired in the city of Fallujah.

The corpse was moved to forensic medicine and the injured were taken to hospital for treatment.

In the meantime, a curfew was imposed in the city of Ramadi in fear of terrorist acts, a well-placed security source said.

Iraq has witnessed a surge in deadly attacks, including bombings and shootings, in recent months.

Iraqi security forces have been battling the militants in Anbar Province since the beginning of the year.
