CAIRO: The Kuwaiti Cabinet accepted the resignation tendered by the Higher Education Minister Ahmed al-Mulaifi in its Monday meeting, the Kuwai News Agency (KUNA) reported Monday.
However, KUNA did not clarify the reasons behind Mulaifi’s resignation.
Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anba said that the resignation came after the death of two Egyptian workers in a landslide took place at Shedadia Kuwaiti University that is under construction. The incident happened two weeks ago.
Mulaifi is the second minister in the cabinet to resign within two weeks.
On May 13, Kuwaiti’s justice and Islamic Affairs minister resigned amid allegations by an American official accusing him of supporting and financing Jihadists in Syria.
