CAIRO: Egypt’s presidential election came to an end Wednesday evening, as polling stations prepared for closure at 9 p.m. Vote counting has started, and each polling station is slated to report its count to one of the 352 main polling stations, which will then announce their final counts.

The numbers provided by news outlets, political parties and other participant organizations are only approximations.

Here are the live updates:

05:15 Youm7 reports that Sisi has received 93.28 percent of votes (23,000,379 votes), Sabbahi has received 2.97 percent (731,157 votes) and 3.76 percent of votes were voided (926,783).

04:30 ONtv broadcasts live from main polling stations where vote counting has ended. In Giza, where turnout reached 42.20 percent, Sisi’s votes were 96.2 percent and Sabbahi’s votes were 3.8 percent.

04:00 Youm7 reports that Sisi has received 93.28 percent of votes (23,000,379 votes), Sabbahi has received 2.97 percent (731,157 votes) and 3.76 percent of votes were voided (926,783).

03:15 ONtv broadcasts live from main polling stations where vote counting has ended. In Wady el Gedid, where turnout reached 43.61 percent, Sisi’s votes were 99.59 percent, Sabbahi’s were 4.41 percent, and 5.70 percent were voided. In Asyut, where the turnout was 33.2 percent, 95.29 voted for Sisi, 4.71 percent voted for Sabbahi, and 5.59 percent of votes were voided.

03:00 Youm7 reported that Sisi received 92.75 percent of votes (18,098,328 votes), Sabbahi received 3.28 percent (639,289 votes) and 3.97 percent of votes were voided (775,265).

02:51 HPEC Secretary-General Tarek Shebl announced that 10,000 sub-polling stations finished counting votes, adding that by Thursday morning all counts should be completed across Egypt, and final results are expected before June 5, in statements to Al Kahera Wal Nas.

02:45 Youm7 reported a death in Tanta, in the governorate of Gharbia, after an accident between three cars celebrating Sisi’s sweeping of the votes.

02:45 Sabbahi campaign member Khaled el-Tobgy filed the first report appealing the presidential election results, stating that the extension of voting for a third day was illegitimate, among other violations, Youm7 reported.

02:30 Youm7 reported that Sisi has received 92.32 percent (15,792,497 votes), Sabbahi has received 3.64 (623,145 votes) and 4.03 percent of votes were voided (690,183).

02:25: Sisi’s campaign says 13 million voters chose Sisi in 207 out of 352 main polling stations across Egypt.

02:20 CBC Channel broadcasts live celebrations in the streets in Alexandria.

01:30 Celebrations continued in Tahrir Square and on Mostafa Mahmoud Street in the neighborhood of Mohandessin.

01:20 Press Syndicate head Diaa Rashwan stated that the number of voided votes was higher this year than in 2012, in statements to the CBC.

01:10 Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that in Cairo, 97.2 percent of voters cast ballots for Sisi (with only 41 out of 823 polling stations counted thus far), in Giza 95.8 percent voted for Sisi (with 12 out of 545 polling stations counted), and in Alexandria 96.8 percent voted for Sisi (with 69 out of 477 polling stations counted).

01:05 Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that the vote count ended in favor of Sisi in the following governorates: Marsa Matrouh (94.7 percent), Red Sea (94.9 percent), South Sinai (94.3 percent), Suez (95.1 percent), Minya (95.3 percent) and Dakahlia (98 percent).

01:00 Youm7 reported that Sisi has received 91.5 percent (9,244,602 votes), Sabbahi has received 3.38 (337,688 votes) and 3.89 percent of votes were voided (389,346).

12:05 Youm7 reported that Sisi has received 92.49 percent (7,091,939 votes), Sabbahi has received 2.97 percent (227,733 votes) and 4.21 percent of votes were voided (325,261).

11:50 Turnout over three days of voting reached 47 percent, meaning 25,100,000 voters, Youm7 reported an HPEC source saying.

11:30 Thousands celebrated the end of the election in Tahrir Square, Youm7 reported.

11:30 Youm7 reported that Sisi has received 25.89 percent of votes (6,731,550), Sabbahi has received 0.82 percent (214,341), and voided votes were 0.86 percent (223,636).

11: 10 Sisi’s campaign reported that Sisi received 93 percent of votes, while 3.9 percent of votes were void, out of a total of 2,238 votes only. Sabbahi’s campaign did not report any numbers as the campaign earlier withdrew its members from polling stations.

11: 00 Youm7 statistics: Sisi: 25.17 percent, Sabbahi: 0.80 percent, void: 0.69 percent.

Sisi: 6,545,191 votes, Sabbahi: 208,424 votes, void: 179,583 votes

10:39 Estimated countrywide results according to Youm7: Sisi: 4,355,413 votes, Sabbahi: 140,517 votes, and 171,945 void votes.

10:37- Free Egyptians Party operations room: Sisi’s share of votes ranges between 93 and 95 percent, party member Antoniuo Daniel told The Cairo Post.

9:47- Estimated results for Kafr el-Sheikh, Sabbahi’s hometown: Sisi: 1,961 votes, Sabbahi: 32 votes, 17 void votes.

9:45- Estimated results for former President Mohamed Morsi’s Al-Edwa Village:  Sisi: 798 votes, Sabbahi: 67 votes.

9:31- Counting votes started in a number of sub-poll stations in governorates, including Fayoum, Giza, Kafr el-Sheikh, Matrouh, Sohag, Mansoura, Sharqia, Minya, Dakahlia, Port Said, Beni Suef, and Menoufiya.

9:15- Minya governorate sees start of vote counting in its poll stations.

9:05- Poll stations, countrywide, start closing and prepare to count votes.
