Pro-MB clashes following Friday prayers

CAIRO: Outside the student campus of Al Azhar University in Cairo violent clashes erupted Friday after noon prayers between protesting students and security forces, who used teargas.

In Port Said clashes occurred after pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters demonstrated following the prayer outside Maryem Mosque in El Manakh district. Youm7 reported birdshots were fired at the scene.

In the Maadi district of Cairo a march of pro-MBs arrived at Al Fath Mosque and started to chant through microphones, while the security were deployed near to the protest.

In the Giza governorate security intensified its presence in anticipation for pro-MB protests in Faisal and Haram streets.

In Matarya district a protest carrying held Rabaa signs and chanted against president-elect Abdel Fatah Al Sisi and the Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim.

Another pro-Brotherhood protest was dispersed in the neighboring streets in Nasr City in Cairo after security forces chased it, no injuries reported.
