Pro-MB students set police booth on fire ahead of Sisi inauguration

CAIRO: Security forces arrested a student suspected of burning a police booth in front of Cairo University Saturday morning, a day before president-elect Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s inauguration amid high security measures.

The student is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the police booth, a security source told Youm7 Saturday.

The students set fire to the trees in front of the University in Giza, raising the four-finger Rabaa salute, indicating solidarity with the pro-Muslim Brotherhood Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in which was forcedly dispersed in August 2013 after the ouster of Mohamed Morsi.

Since the ouster, protests have been staged by Brotherhood supporters especially in the universities.

Three armed vehicles with were deployed around the university and near the police booth.
